busting at the seams

my heart that is...

"Little" Grant Joseph was born yesterday afternoon. Every single 9 lbs 15 oz of him is perfect.

I just keep thinking "Wow this is big. Huge!"

It is.

A baby. There is nothing in this world more perfect that a newborn child. It's like starting the biggest, most important project of your life from scratch. Every second of everyday will effect his life in one way or another. Every single person that comes in contact with this child will leave their mark.

Starting now his life story begins. The second he was born he started growing into the man he'll one day be.

I look at my kinder babes and think that just 5/6 short years ago they started as nothing more than tiny body with a mind and a soul and now every day, every second even, they're turning into who they are they will become. They're all so unique and so special. They already have a story.

I just seriously cant get over it y'all. Wild.

Wow, I know that was a bunch of ramble but good gosh, I can't begin to wrap my mind around it. So crazy how something so small can be so "big".

Check out big boys precious, teeny feet.
Dying right?? Me too!

Grant is so lucky to have Mark and Brittany as his parents.
also think he's pretty lucky, for now anyway, to have all of us in his life (until the boys fill his mind with ideas of wiener snatchers and such) :)

Isn't he the cutest? And don't you think I need him? I know it!

I've been trying to convince them for the last 9 months to let me have him...no such luck. Guess they want to kiss and hug those sweet cheeks all day long too.  Perhaps I should try again next week after endless days of sleeplessness?

On a similar note I made a basket for Papa Mark of handy "dad stuff" Starbucks coffee drinks, beef jerky, nuts, candy, gum, etc.  I also included Grant's first "dirty magazine" - Sport Illustrated Swim Suit Edition! I'm hoping he'll have some down time in the next couple days, poor guy looked beat!
And y'all may remember this box of awesomeness given to me to celebrate my engagement...well it was so amazing I had to do the same for all the happy people welcoming Grant into the world.

Sprinkles Cupcakes did not disappoint. although, if you've ever had Sprinkles, that comes as no surprise...

It's true Grant! We sure do love you!

Baby G I feel so honored to be a part of your life. I can't wait to watch you grow! Oh,and don't you worry, we I have plans to get you a playmate asap just the very second I can trick T into it.

Waiting on a package...

On Saturday Casey and I showered mama to be Brittany and our tinniest addition, Grant who will be  joining us very soon!

Sweet little GJB!

Big Papa Mark's been one of our very closest friends since high school and Brittany quickly became "part of the group" after they got married.  I knew the second I found out they were expecting I wanted to do something special for them. Casey and I were so excited about hosting a shower for them!

Mark has worked with UPS since college.  We are constantly joking with him about using other shipping companies and his cute brown uniform he used to sport when he did routes. It took Casey and I about .3 seconds to decide on this precious UPS theme.

Check out these incredible invites...I drew what I wanted the symbol to look like and sent it to our friend Amanda to execute (She has a side business called "Swoon" that I'll link to the very second she gets her page up!) Amanda took it to a WHOLE new level by making it identical to a UPS shipping label! SO amazing! This really set the whole theme, every RSVP I recieved ravved about the cleverness!

Now on to the all the cute deats! We hosted the shower at Casey's adorable home. The perfect party house! We tried to keep it simple and budget friendly, best part...we were successful! Jute, check. Packaging paper, check. Boxes, check. Groceries, check. Done and done!

SPECIAL DELIVERY...GJB!

Sign in and wishes for Grant
We added sonogram pics of Baby G to the white strip of ribbon.
Food set up
We served fruit, veggies, pasta salad, assorted hummus dips, pita chips, crackers, spinach dip, cheese cubes, meltaway cookies, and cupcakes. Light and easy.

Want to know a cheap girl secret? Those delicious (and pretty!) cupcakes....they're from Walmart! Can't beat $6 a dozen and everyone that ate them asked where they were from! mmm mmm good!

The drink set up

Even these boys got in on the action! I was dying to make a little speech bubble coming from their heads wishing Grant well!

The shower goers were left with these simple favors...chocolate chip cookies, dipped in chocolate and drizzled with yellow.

After everyone said their goodbyes we asked the boys (who had been avoiding the estrogen by doing "man things" outside) if they wanted some grub...they happily accepted the offer. I thought all these flannel/cowboy/baseball cap adorned boys looked pretty funny filling their tiny plates with dainty chick food!

We had so much fun putting this all together for Britt! We are anxiously anticipating their special little delivery!

Baby G you are SO loved! We can't wait to meet you!

In other baby related news...

Yesterday my mom had the whole fam over for a fun little "Celebrate Charlotte"/Valentine's Day dinner.  We are SUPER, SUPER excited about having another girl in the family and went a little over the the top in the pink category! Complete with pink balloons, pink sparkling cider, and strawberry short cake with pink whipped cream!

Ahhhh....LOVE IT!

I also texted my brothers and told them to wear pink. They were a little confused as to why we were "celebrating" an unborn child but all showed up adorned in pink anyway! Such good sports!

And aren't you obsessed with her name?!

Charlotte "Charlie" Wynn

Sweet little C Dub, I already love you so, so much!!

B is for Babies

Who doesn't love them?

I won't say too much about this topic but my biggest fear in life is not being able to have my own children. It's a rarity to find me in "deep thought" but when I am it's generally about this. I'm especially in awe of those women who struggle throughout the process with such a positive attitude.  There's no doubt about it, babies are a gift from God.  I can.not.wait to have my life surrounded by tons of little babes! And people....that time is NOW!

That's right...
I'M GOING TO BE AN AUNT!!
(and an unofficial aunt to Mark and Britt's Baby G)

Aside from being a wife and having babes of my own this is something I have waited my entire life for!

And now this couple is making me the most proud person in the whole dang universe! So thankful for them and their new little baby!
Ian and Tracy (old pic)

They will be the BEST parents!

This baby was an answer to countless prayers and I am SOOOO beyond happy for them (and me!!) Let me tell you, this is one extremely loved little baby! After years of hoping they finally decided to "not worry" about it happening.  They focused on making their cute house cuter and having fun in general and wouldn't you know? It happened! Always does right? The minute you relax and stop allowing it take over every though in your mind....

Back in October, after a super fun weekend with T, we we're at the deer lease with his fam...atop a big ole hunting truck (like on the top of the cab, hick style) and I got a text from Tracy.  Pictures of the pregnancy tests! Y'all...it took everything in my power to stay cool in front of T's dad, who surely would've thought I was nuts. I thought it was a joke.  I've spent the last 2 years analyzing everything she does..."she only drank half her glass of wine...is she pregs??" "why did they decide to not come to dinn? she must be pregs!" "she had tea at dinner...def pregs, right?" to always find out later I was wrong.

This was the biggest surprise ever!

That was back in October though.  MONTHS ago! I was so nervous about getting excited over this baby. (publicly anyway...secretly I had already purchased clothes for "it", like any obsessed aunt would do)

Well....this morning they found out the sex of the baby! I was SO excited to get the day started so I could patiently wait for the text she promised to send the minute they found out!  We even made it class activity...

10 o'clock came around and I still hadn't heard...then I got this message...

I was PISSED.  Seriously...they knew how excited I was about this day and they decided all of a sudden to have a freakin' gender reveal??! (which my Mexican aide/friend says is "something only white people would do" haha)

Well about 30 minutes later I got a phone call and got the news I had anticipated for weeks and weeks and weeks....

It's a GIRL!!!

I may be a little biased but she's going to be the most precious little girl in the whole world and I will be the best aunt evs...just sayin'.

Already have all kinds of baby girl plans in store for Little Miss CML...tutu's GALORE! You can bet your sweet little baby bottom on it!

So excited to celebrate Baby G tomorrow! Stayed tuned next week for what may be the cutest shower you ever did see! Geez laweez...so much excitement!!
