get organized!

Orangization is something I say I'm good at but if you'd peek in to my real life at any given moment as of late you may disagree...

I do however desire a perfectly organized home and we.will. (mark my words) have one of those just as soon as we're settled into our home and have some space to spread out.

You know, one thing I've found to be the MOST important thing about being and staying organized...

Time.

You first have to find time to get everything perfectly organized...that's easy enough.  Find a weekend, get to work. But keeping it that way is a struggle! I feel like I live out of a suit case at the moment.  That poor thing never gets unpacked. What is clean stays in the suit case and new clothes are added every Thursday night ready to leave again on Friday. I have piles of laundry I never get to and stacks of clean clothes that need to find a home in a completely crammped space.

It's a mess. I'm a mess. BUT I take comfort in knowing that in less than 205 days that will all change! Can't wait to be back to my "normal" self, post wedding.

I also take comfort in seeing beautifully organized homes on pinterest.

Like these simple fixes...

Crafts and junk

These are great for all my wrapping paper, ribbons, fabrics, screen print junk, etc., etc.  I've got so much junk and it needs desperate orgaization!

Laundry
Love how simple these are. We will have a very specific laundry plan of action.

Bathroom

Closets
Those baskets hanging are so clever and have so many great uses!

Jewelry
I basically have this using push pins but this is so much prettier.  Oh Traaaav...

Seriously can't wait for the day I will have all my things in one place nice and neat!

And just for good measure I'll leave you with this precious pup...
Oh sweet, little, liver and white Brittany pup...Millie and I both want you.

JIC

Doesn't JIC stand for "just in case"? I feel like we used to say that back in the day...anywho...

Here's a short story:
Back in August I was in the car with a bunch of girl friends talking about random stuff and I asked, "When is Travis going to propose?" and my friend Britt blurts out, 'before Thanksgiving!!". The car went silent, I was silent, and I instinctively grabbed the first thing I could find (a sunglasses case) and I hit her in the head with it. Hard. (because obviously "When is Travis proposing?" was a rhetorical question!!) She cried (I think more because she's pregs and less because it hurt) and I cried (I have no idea why). And then it was over. And we all went on to excitedly discuss Trav and I getting engaged.

What are the chances this scene could be reproduced?? Slim to freakin' none in these frigid 84 degree temps!

Obvi I was SO excited but now I knew and I was very sad about that, because who doesn't want to be surprised?!? I told Travis that I knew. So, I am like more than 99.99% percent positive it will not happen this weekend - the last weekend before Thanksgiving (because he has told me in the past he has a plan and this weekends trip was just pulled together by me so I know it's not "part of his plan", and I am certain he doesn't know my ring size, and I'm pretty sure he hasn't asked my dear ol' daddy yet...)

BUT........

that .01% of me has a date with the nail place after school today (and probably every week from now until it actually happens!) You know....JUST IN CASE!!
because a sparkler like this should only adorn a manicured finger

Better safe than sorry, right?!

Dream Weaver

So yesterday afternoon when I received this message from Trav:
it drives me crazy that he doesn't type out 'you'!!

my mind went a little haywire with excitement. I mean, we drive around and look some, and browse real estate websites from time to time, and even call on a few but in my mind we're always just kind of playing. I always assumed we were a ways off from actually purchasing a house (there's a few steps that need to take place before that one...like a ring for starters!) and this was 100% his doing so it got me really excited. My very own home has been a dream for oh, probably 20 years.
No joke.

He knows better than to do that to me! He knew darn well that I had a list of things I needed to get done (the one weekend we aren't together and crazy busy!) and he knows my excitement level for all things "future": (wedding, home, babies, etc.)

And, I mean look at that house. It's pretty! And Millie sure wouldn't mind that ginormous yard! After taking the "virtual tour" I saw that we would need to get in there and make a few updates...

So what did I do for the rest of the afternoon you ask? Laundry? Not a chance. Naturally, I pinned away. Duh. If you follow me on pinterest I sincerely apologize for filling your feed with my millions of home updates/renos and ideas. Thanks Travis for making me completely unproductive.
LOVE the colors and those fish prints. Trav would def approve!

bathroom perfection.

y'all, these curtains WILL be in my house one day. for sure.

reminds me of my bffs cute little entry...case, a cushion would be cute on your pew! next project!

i.want.this.couch.BAD. (and the pillows and the quilt and those windows)

Maybe I would actually wash more than I pin with this laundry room.
All that wasted time dreaming over a house that the website clearly states is "under contract". Dang it.

Gary Wright had it right when he said,
"Dream Weaver, I believe you can get me through the night.
Dream Weaver, I believe we can catch the morning light"
Are you all singing it now??! I will be for the next 5 days.

Thinking about all the possibilities for that house that very likely will never be ours practically did keep me up to catch the morning light.

Oh, but it's fun to dream! Good night y'all!
